The day of the domestic goddess!

Sundays are great days for organising, watching old episodes of Friends and eating soup! Today has been a perfect Sunday!! The tune to go with this perfect Sunday will have to be,  Fish Go Deep - The Cure and The Cause - check it out and strut it out (Top Model Style!)

After my grey cloud of yesterday, I woke up today feeling refreshed and on a mission! This mission...to be a domestic goddess and this started with soup!
I have been making soup for a while starting with a recipe and then experimenting along the way. Today I made two soups (at the same time), Mushroom and Spicy Red Lentil. If you fancy giving them a go see below...

Spicy Lentil Soup
Cumin Seeds
Ground Cumin
Ground Coriander
Ground Tumeric
Olive Oil
Garlic
1 Onion
Vegetable Stock
Alcohol of choice (today mine was   as had run out of wine, cider and vodka!)
Red Lentils
Can of Chopped Tomatoes
Red Pepper
Salt and Pepper to season for individual taste

1. Fry off the spices, garlic, and onions until softened
2. Add a splash of alcohol, stirring throughout
3. Add the red pepper, lentils and stock and cook until tender (approx 20mins)
4. Add the chopped tomatoes, stir and allow to heat through for a further 5mins
5. Serve..perfect with a crusty roll
Mushroom Soup
Mushrooms
Olive Oil
Potatoes
1 Onion
Garlic
Wine or Cider (or if you don't have these experiment!)
Stock
Thyme
Salt and Pepper to season for individual taste

1. Heat the onions and garlic in the oil until softened
2. Add the potatoes and allow to sweat for 5-10mins
3. Add the mushrooms, alcohol, stock and thyme and cook for 15mins
4. Allow to cool before blitzing.
5. Serve! Garnish with cream if you wish.

There are no quantities as I don't use them...cooking is with the eye and trust your judgement and taste throughout!

My creative flare is also some what back! Finishing touches have been the key today and today I have worked on 32 hearts adding some beautiful finishing touches with ribbons, bows, buttons, sequins, jewels etc.

Two of my favourite have to be the below...a first for me using sequins and after the result these will be making a regular appearance...you can't beat a bit of sparkle!!
